Hi,
You’ve seen the jewels... now it’s time to meet the person behind them.

I’m Ilana. At 47 years of age and deep into the job of raising four gorgeous daughters (with a lot of help from a somewhat henpecked husband), I decided to create a brand of wearable jewellery, accessible to women of all ages. With a passion for all things beautiful and a belief that looking good is an essential ingredient for feeling good, I created a collection that I’m proud of and excited to share with you.

My life hasn’t always gone to plan (whose has?)

I’ve learnt the hard way that feeling good about yourself takes work. A LOT of work.

A combination of a childhood accident that left me with disfiguring burns across my body and my quest, relatively late in life, to learn about my Jewish heritage, lead me to develop the basic guiding principle of my life.

 

Sometimes we have to Fake it Until We Make it

An idea as simple as it is powerful!

Rooted in Jewish teachings, this idea for me expresses the notion that sometimes it’s our behaviours that shape our beliefs and attitudes, and not the other way around. Of course, we must look after ourselves on the inside, nurturing spirit, soul, intellect and relationships… but sometimes feeling good is just as much about taking care of the outside.

Sometimes we have to act first …and know that the feelings will follow.

Or, in my language, sometimes you just need to buy the clothes and the shiny trinkets and the good feelings of independence vitality and strength will follow.

Looking good isn’t selfish, frivolous or superficial. When we look good, we feel good. We feel confident and can get out there and do our thing.

 

And the world needs us to do our thing.

We all have busy lives. Homes to look after. Jobs to get on with. Children or spouses, pets and the rest. We juggle so many things each day. So many people need us to be our best, happiest, most functional selves. Whilst it may seem an unnecessary luxury to put ourselves first, I believe we must. Because, quite simply, when we don’t take care of ourselves we are no good to anyone. When we put out to the universe that we care about ourselves, we start a virtuous cycle of positive energy that affects all those around us and in turn, improves our own state of well-being. The official Stuff

Ilana Album has decades of experience in the fashion industry having worked as an Assistant Director at major UK fashion emporium - Harrods, as Retail Operations Manager at Selfridges, and as a personal stylist for many years. With a Masters in Business Administration and a qualification in interior design she has an understanding of all aspects of production and is committed to using only high-quality materials and closely managing every step of the production process, from design to finished product, herself. Ilana also works closely with select clients to tailor their collection to thier needs and wants. Her deep-seated fashion know-how, together with her background in design and her own life experience as an avid shopper, jewellery-lover and mother to four fashion-conscious girls, have given her a unique perspective on what women want and need… a genuine interest in helping all her clients find their own inner “diva.”

Ilana created idesign in response to a demand for easy-to-wear, solid-gold handmade jewellery with a modern, edgy twist and an attractive price tag to match. All her pieces are hand-crafted in 14ct gold and diamond, semi-precious or zirconia and incorporate ‘of the moment” design and styling.
